1. If you’re Taking a Prerequisite Course

So, in this case, the length of your permit will be equal to the length of your course plus one year for your prerequisite course.

In some cases, students are not able to complete their studies within their study permit time frame. In this case, they’ll need to apply for an extension of their study permit. If they fail to do so, they’ll have to leave Canada.
